Meet & Greet - Open to All!
We started the Sunday night Meet & Greet as a way for everyone to say hello and catch up after a year apart. It seems to keep getting larger and more fun each year. In 2023 we are adding a new tea competition Tea Quest centered around our tea culture which will allow you to compete against your fellow tea geeks and win some prizes.
We will ensure that any speakers arriving early will drop by to say hello and that any of the Questex crew or the World Tea Expo Prep crew join us for fun! We will be there to answer any questions and chat about the conference and show floor. Jeni Dodd will be serving her great tea again and offering some complimentary cups for you to keep and we will have some snacks too. Tea fun and getting together again, what could be better? See you all soon.
Everyone is welcome so drop by and say Hello!

Tea Business Incubator Test

Please be aware that no one will be admitted 10 minutes after each session starts.  If you are late you will have to wait until the next session starts.  It is just too disruptive otherwise.

Tea Business Incubator, formally Tea Business Boot Camp, has launched so tea businesses that it makes me proud to be part of the ongoing effort to support all the startups relating to tea. Once someone attends a day of presentations by talented speakers who truly want them to succeed, they seem to become stronger and even more determined to push forward and turn their dream into a reality.
The schedule this year is as follows:
7:30 am to 5:00 pm --- Tea Incubator Business (Guru Pass)
7:30 am to 8:00 am – Getting settled and having a cup of tea and muffin. Emcee Sherolyn Sellers
8:00 am to 9:00 am - Stacie Robertson (Bringing Your Passion to Fruition)
Being your authentic self in your expression of tea makes all the hard things you have to do worth it.
9:15 am to 10:15 am – Jeni Dodd- Objection! Hear Say-- Prevent potential legal pitfalls with your tea business and protect yourself from avoidable fines and penalties.
10:30 am to 11:30 am – Brooklynn Krul – (Using Social Media to Grow a Successful Business.)
There are so many ways to reach your future customers, so let’s narrow it down! Social media in this day and age demands a lot from brands, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. We are going to look at what makes a tea-based brand “worth a follow”, and how you can eliminate barriers to entry and start posting! Plus, this session will give you tips on creating content calendars, staying on top of trends, and which type of social media to use for your business.
11:30 am to 12:30 pm - Lunch Break (There will be coupons given out for the food court downstairs )
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm – Cody Wade - (Banking on Tea: Establishing a relationship with your banker, everything you need to know to get started.)
1:45 pm to 2:45 pm – Kevin Gascoyne - (The Realities of Buying Tea-Sourcing your product is the core of your business. Kevin discusses the romance and realities of buying tea.)
3:00 pm to 4:15 pm – Sherolyn Sellers (Disruptive Thinking Exercises)
The goal here is to present participants with a task (such as designing a new product or marketing strategy for your company), and then hit them with various disruptions (Covid-19 surges, labor shortages, etc.). Ask attendees to rethink their strategic approach on the fly and push them to be more flexible in their thinking.
4:30 pm to 5:00 pm - Wrap-Up with all 6 Speakers present to answer questions as a panel

Education is critical to making tea a successful part of your business.
Where once tea was a forgotten footnote, it now finds its place as a part of any successful drinks and training program.

Better Management Through Common Sense
"Not being all things to all people". The demands of the consumer appear to be myriad, as are the offerings available to them with, literally, thousands of companies now offering tea products online, supposedly answering the questions asked of them. So how do you not end up in a dithering heap on the floor?
This talk takes a common sense look at what really matters and will matter and how to stop pandering to the consumer before considering the consequences to your business. In fact, it will suggest that business metrics first, and offerings second is a practical way to develop a company strategy.
From sustainability to product portfolios and what they deliver, we shall look at "Better management through Uncommon sense"

Is There GMO in My Tea?
"Stands the church clock at ten to three,
And is there GMO in my tea?"
As Rupert Brookes' famous lines might be written today.
Certainly, when in 1912 Brookes was looking forward to honey with his tea, there was no possibility of transgenic meddling with his Camellia sinensis. But today - who knows?
Are molecular biologists brewing up new tea DNA? Are GMO tea cultivars taking over the fields? Has Monsanto tinkered with your teabag?
Unthinkable - or is it?

Experiential Retail
The face of retail has changed drastically over the last few years.  The pandemic accelerated a large scale move to internet shopping and client behaviour has been permanently shifted.  But there are elements of the shopping experience that cannot be reproduced virtually.  Tea companies have an opportunity to take advantage of a general need for human contact, visceral connection to the product and information exchange.  A carefully hosted shop visit can become an event in itself and may be the distinction that will keep the tradition of visiting the local tea shop alive.

Tea & Chocolate Pairing: A Match Made in Heaven

Everybody knows that tea and chocolate complement each other perfectly when the right match is
made. Questions that might pop up when starting with chocolate are: How do I start pairing chocolates with my tea products? How to define the matching chocolate flavor? Which are typical
chocolate flavors? In this 90-minute workshop, Stijn will answer these questions and teach you the essentials to get you going and create your own tea and chocolate workshops for your business. Of course, we will
not keep it too theoretical but will pair different chocolates with the teas of some producers present at the expo.
We start with a short explanation of what chocolate is and the history behind chocolate,
followed by chocolate-tasting techniques. Next, we will explore pairing chocolate with tea and
indulge ourselves with excellent Belgian chocolate and tasteful teas. The combinations we make are
based on pure single-origin chocolate, bean- to- bar and chocolate bonbons from award-winning
Belgian chocolatiers.
This session is limited to 75 attendees, on a first come first serve basis We just increased the capacity for more attendees!

Key takeaways
• Step-by-step guide to creating your own workshop
• Teaching you how to taste chocolate
• Insights into other things you can do with chocolate for your business

Tea is for Tranquility

The legend of the meditating Buddhist monks who meditated so long his eyelids turned into the first tea plant
The use of tea for calming or stimulating depending on what you need for your meditation
The act of preparing the tea lending to the meditation mindset
The specific herbal teas historically used for meditation and healing

There will be tea served to mediate with and a guided tea meditation. Souvenir tea cups will be provided.
The meditation will primarily take place on the floor, but accommodations will be made for those who do not have the ability to sit that way. A meditation pillow or yoga mat is recommended but not needed. There will be some light stretching and movement to settle into the seminar.
