I call myself a ‘Tea Child’. Born on a tea estate, the daughter of a tea planter in Upper Assam.
The family having had to relocate to Dubai when I was all of 5 and then on to Sri Lanka a decade later, my shallow roots in tea had literally withered away. Stepping into my adult life studying media in Birmingham, followed up by a stint in an advertising agency in Mumbai, to now nurturing and managing the Tea Studio, a unique artisanal tea manufactory located in the Nilgiris in South India, is a paradigm shift which boggles the mind.
